No, not at all. In the baking and heating process, the “sauer” kraut taste is eliminated but it leaves the batter with a great amount of moisture.
We would recommend it, yes. Rinse in cold water and drain it although not excessively. Some recipes call for simple rinsing but not necessarily draining. Again, the kraut adds moisture to the recipe.
You can. If you leave it as is, straight from the jar or can, you might see the longer strands in the finished product. You don’t taste it but you might see it. You can always chop it so the Frank’s Kraut is a little shorter, it’s up to you!
Our sauerkraut is pasteurized. There aren’t any live, active probiotics in our sauerkraut; however, kraut always has health benefits in any form.
We suggest that after opening our sauerkraut you store the leftovers in the refrigerator in an air tight container to ensure freshness and flavor with every bite!
Our sauerkraut will stay delicious for up to 30 days in the refrigerator after opening, as long as the container is sealed tight.
Our Frank’s Kraut Singles have a four month shelf life. We recommend storing them in the refrigerator to help extend their shelf life.
For the best quality of the product we recommend consuming it before the best buy date. We do not recommend consuming it after that date.
Yes, we are proud to say that our products are gluten-free and made in an allergen-free facility.
We have found that a bottle opener or a can opener with a hook is the best solution. Leverage your opener under the rim of the lid and gently lift up until the safety bottom on the top pops up. Doing this releases the vacuum and you can easily twist off the lid. Please, use caution because it is a glass jar.
Kroger’s has replaced our SnowFloss kraut products, in Ohio and Pennsylvania, with our national label: Frank’s Quality Kraut. Both of these brands are made in the same facility, at the same time, and are only labeled after we determine which region or store they will be shipped. Even though their labels are different, it is the exact same sauerkraut.
