Ingredients
1 store bought pizza dough (about 14 to 16 oz.)
1 – 2 tbsp. olive oil
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 heaping cups shredded mozzarella
2 small Yukon gold potatoes, sliced very thin (any gold/yellow potato will work)
¾ cup sliced smoked sausage (fully cooked)
¼ cup thinly sliced red onion (about ¼ of a small onion)
½ - ¾ cup Frank’s Kraut, drained very well
¼ - ½ tsp. caraway seeds (optional)
A few dashes of salt
A few dashes of black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F. (*SEE NOTE BELOW)
- Roll out the pizza dough to your desired shape, making sure it is about ¼-inch thick (or about 1/8-inch thick for a thin crust pizza). Carefully transfer the rolled and shaped dough to a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Poke the dough in several places with the tines of a fork.
- Add the dough to the preheated oven and par-bake for 5 minutes.
- Remove the pizza from the oven and brush with a thin coating of olive oil. Evenly distribute the minced garlic over the oil, leaving about 1-inch around the crust edges. Next, evenly distribute the mozzarella cheese over the garlic, followed by the sliced potatoes, sausage, red onion, and kraut. Sprinkle the top with caraway seeds (if using) and a few dashes each of salt and pepper.
- Bake for another 10 to 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the crust is golden brown. Serve immediately.
- *NOTE: Follow the specific cooking directions on the dough you are using if they are different from above. You can also use a homemade dough or premade pizza crust for this recipe!
