Chocolate Kraut Cupcakes Recipe

The delicious Frank’s Chocolate Kraut Cupcakes that you love all dressed up for the July 4th holiday!

Yields About 24 Cupcakes


For Cake:
1 box cake mix your favorite Devil’s Food cake mix
1 cup Frank’s Kraut, drained
1 ½ cup buttermilk
1 egg
For Frosting:
2 Cans Vanilla Frosting (2 cans = about 4 cups)
3 tablespoons powdered sugar
Red or blue food coloring


For Cake:
  1. Mix together all cake ingredients and divide batter into a 12-count cupcake tin.
  2. Bake at 350⁰F for 15-20 minutes, (until inside is set and batter is no longer liquid in center).
  3. Let cool.
For Frosting:
  1. Add 3 tablespoons of powdered sugar to your vanilla frosting and whip together. Stir in desired amount of red or blue food coloring for decoration.
  2. Pipe frosting onto cooled cupcakes and decorate with red, white, and blue sprinkles. Add additional decorations as desired and enjoy!
