Frank's Kraut Vanilla Cupcakes Recipe

Yields About 24 Cupcakes


1 Box cake mix, your favorite Vanilla cake mix
1 cup Frank’s Kraut drained
1 ½ cup buttermilk
1 egg
2 cans vanilla frosting (2 cans=about 4 cups)
3 tablespoons powdered sugar
Optional Additions (Adds a depth of flavor to your cupcake frosting!) 1-2 tablespoons of Stout Beer, Baileys Irish Cream, Kahlúa, or your favorite equivalent.


For Cake:
  1. Mix together all cake ingredients and divide batter into a 12-count cupcake tin.
  2. Bake at 350⁰F for 15-20 minutes, (until inside is set and batter is no longer liquid in center).
  3. Let cool.
For Frosting:
  1. If using, add a splash (about a tablespoon) of Beer, Baileys, Kahlúa, or your favorite equivalent to your frosting, along with 3 tablespoons of powdered sugar. Whip together until completely blended and smooth.
  2. Pipe frosting onto cooled cupcakes and decorate as desired. Enjoy and consider sharing with friends and family.
