Frank's Kraut Classic Reuben Sandwich

A classic Reuben sandwich made with Frank’s Kraut.

Yields 1 sandwich

Ingredients

2 slices rye bread
¼ pound corned beef
¼ cup Frank’s Kraut, drained
2 slices swiss cheese
2 tablespoons thousand island dressing
2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Heat a medium skillet over medium heat. Add in corned beef and kraut to heat through.
  2. While corned beef and kraut are heating through, butter the outside of each slice of bread, and spread dressing on the inside of each slice. Remove warmed corned beef from pan and set aside.
  3. Place one piece of bread, buttered side down, in skillet. Top with a slice of swiss cheese and warmed corned beef and kraut, followed by second slices of cheese and bread, buttered side up.
  4. Toast sandwich on both sides, like a grilled cheese.
  5. Serve and enjoy!

    No need to butter the bread, just a dry grill or pan. Place a weight on the sandwich allowing the bread to toast and warm the cheese. You will have a sandwich that will not mess up your hands. I use this method and like way better than “fried” sandwich.

    I have always used Thousand Island dressing as a side dish for dipping
    You didn’t mention that.

      You can absolutely dip the sandwich Thousand Island Dressings. We have it listed as an ingredient for the sandwich.
