Ingredients
8 hot dogs
8 hot dog buns
Yellow mustard
Pinch of cayenne (optional)
1 – 1 ½ cups chili
1 – 1 ½ cups shredded cheese (I used Colby Jack)
1 – 1 ½ cups Frank’s Mustard Kraut, well drained
½ cup finely diced yellow or white onion
Instructions
- Add the chili to a small saucepan set over medium heat. Mix in a pinch of cayenne, if using, and cook until the chili begins to bubble, stirring often; about 10 minutes. Turn the heat to low to keep warm.
- While the chili is cooking, heat the hot dogs on a grill or in a skillet set over medium heat. Cook until the outside of the hot dogs is slightly browned and they are heated through, about 5 minutes per side.
- Next, build your chili dogs. Spread a thin layer of mustard onto each bun before adding a hot dog. Next, evenly distribute the chili between the hot dogs, followed by the cheese and mustard Kraut. Top the kraut with a sprinkling of diced onion and serve immediately.
